Canada Life Centre is an indoor sports arena and entertainment venue in downtown Winnipeg. The arena is the home of the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League and the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

Canada Life Centre was designed with you in mind. Every seat, every sightline, every concession area and every full-colour video display has been engineered to provide the ultimate fan experience. We’ve done our best to create a place where fans can enjoy themselves and we hope you will do just that. We welcome you to use our free Wi-Fi during your visit by connecting to #Canada Life Centre.

This guide is intended to highlight some of the features of Canada Life Centre. If you need more information while at Canada Life Centre, you may visit one of the following Guest Services locations:

Accessibility Information

Washrooms, water fountains, telephones, ATMs, ticket windows and concessions throughout Canada Life Centre are fully accessible to all guests. Public elevators are located throughout the venue providing easy access to all levels. In addition, Braille signage is used throughout the facility.

Seating for guests using wheelchairs (and attendants) is available for all events. There are 11 sections with accessible seating in the lower and upper bowls. All premium suites and the King Club lounge can accommodate accessible seating. When purchasing hockey or event tickets, please toggle on the Accessibility seating option to view available seats if accessible seating is required.

Designated parking stalls for guests with disabilities are available in several nearby lots. Accessible drop-off and pick-up is located on the west lane of Donald Street beside Canada Life Centre. Sign language interpreters may be available for some events at the discretion of event producers.

Assistive listening devices are available at Winnipeg Jets hockey games and certain other events to assist guests who are hard of hearing. These devices may not be available at some concerts due to performers’ concerns regarding reproduction of music.

Ticketmaster, the designated ticket agent for Canada Life Centre, reserves seating for all events for sight-impaired guests. Please contact Ticketmaster through their website www.ticketmaster.ca and identify yourself as sight-impaired to access these seats.

Allergies

Canada Life Centre management makes the best efforts to accommodate our guests with allergies.

Peanuts are no longer available at Canada Life Centre, though products containing nuts are sold. Guests with allergic conditions that restrict diet may bring food or non-alcoholic beverages into Canada Life Centre for personal consumption, subject to event security restrictions.

Animals or pets of any kind are prohibited at Canada Life Centre with the exception of service animals for guests with disabilities.

ATM Locations

There two Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) located in Canada Life Centre for your convenience. Please reference the Concourse maps for exact locations.

Banners/Signs

Subject to promoter and touring act restrictions, banners and signs are allowed in Canada Life Centre but must not interfere with the view of other guests or be hung or fastened anywhere in Canada Life Centre. Poles to display banners or flags are prohibited. Banners and signs must not be commercial in nature or obscene. Canada Life Centre reserves the right to remove any banner or sign without exception. Please note that certain events may not allow signs or banners of any kind.

Cameras & Other Electronic Devices

Professional cameras are prohibited at all events in Canada Life Centre unless accompanied by appropriate facility media credentials. Video cameras and audio recorders are also prohibited unless specifically approved on an event-by-event basis. Canada Life Centre will not check cameras for guests at events where such items are prohibited so guests will be required to return them to their vehicle or stored elsewhere off-site. Still (non-professional) point and shoot cameras are allowed for Winnipeg Jets hockey games and certain other specified events (the use of flash is prohibited). Cameras with detachable lenses and/or ones that do not fit in a standard pant pocket will be prohibited. The venue reserves the right to determine acceptable size or type of camera and prohibit entry at their sole discretion. Camera policies for entertainment events can vary by artist and event type, and specific restrictions are not always known in advance. If unsure of camera policy for an event, enquiries can be made by calling 204-987-7825.

For safety purposes, selfie sticks are prohibited.

Individual tickets for all Canada Life Centre and Burton Cummings Theatre events may be purchased at the Canada Life Centre Box Office or online at www.ticketmaster.ca.

The Canada Life Centre Box Office/Will Call is located at street level at the corner of Portage Avenue and Donald Street in the main atrium (Gate 1).

Children’s Entry

At Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose games, children two years and older must have a ticket in order to gain entrance to Canada Life Centre. Children under two years of age may enter without a ticket but must sit on the lap of an accompanying adult. For other events, individual performers will determine the mandatory ticket age. Closed Captioning Service

True North Sports + Entertainment Limited, the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club and the Manitoba Moose are pleased to provide an in-arena service that accommodates deaf or hard of hearing hockey fans with closed-captioning of public address and promotional announcements at Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose games.

Deaf and hard of hearing guests are able to receive captioning via their own Wi-Fi enabled remote devices (smart phones or tablets) or by reserving and signing out tablets from Guest Services, located on the Main Concourse across from Sections 103/104. Two business days’ notice is required in order to arrange closed-captioning services. Requests may be made by calling the True North office at 204-987-7825 or click HERE to reserve this service for an event.

Coat Check

Canada Life Centre guests are welcome to leave coats at Coat Check, located at Gate 1 near the Portage & Donald entrance. Coat Check fee is $5.  Contactless payment is preferred. A secondary Coat Check is also open for certain events at Gate 6 in the Cityplace Bridge.

Costumes

Costumes are permitted for all events inside Canada Life Centre. Costumes including the following elements/accessories will be restricted from entry:

– Anything that resembles a weapon of any kind (guns, knives, swords, lightsabers, etc.)
– Chains or spikes
– Anything political, racial, or offensive in any matter
– Anything that will obstruct the view of other guests

Any guest wearing a mask will be asked to remove it upon entry through the security checkpoints and when purchasing alcohol.

Eaton’s Historical Display Area

The social history of downtown Winnipeg and the part played by the T. Eaton Co. Department Store is recalled in a display area situated in the Skywalk Level atrium along Portage Avenue. Here you will find the famous statue of Timothy Eaton and the World War One and World War Two memorial plaques placed in the store by Eaton’s employees to commemorate family lost in the two wars.

Elevators/Escalators

There are five public elevators located in Canada Life Centre in four different locations. They are located as follows: two in the northeast foyer (Gate 1), one in the southeast foyer (Gate 2), one inside the Main Concourse by Tim Hortons (service elevator not for public use) and one in the southwest foyer (Gate 3). Three escalators found in public areas provide easy access to the various levels and gates of Canada Life Centre.

Emergency Phone Calls

In the event of an emergency, a message may be delivered to our Guest Text Assist Number by texting 204-590-7622. Please be sure to leave your section, row, and seat number with any person(s) who may need to reach you at an event in case of an emergency. This is the only way our employees will have to locate you. Guests will be contacted in emergency situations only.

Fan Code of Conduct

Canada Life Centre is committed to providing all guests with a superior guest experience, and a safe, comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. In order to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, we request that all guests be courteous to those around them and abide by all building policies and regulations.

Prohibited items include: cannabis products, e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco, bottles, cans, coolers, hard-sided water bottles, aerosol cans, weapons (including pocket knives), fireworks, skateboards, rollerblades, roller-skates, illegal drugs or noxious substances, laser pointers, selfie sticks, helium balloons, air horns/blow horns, cowbells, and outside food or beverage. Confiscated items will not be returned.

The following standards have been established with respect to fan conduct:

  • Fans are entitled to enjoy their experience free from disruptive or inconsiderate behaviours or unruly actions. Fans may not interfere with the event and/or athletes/performers in any manner.
  • Fans shall refrain from using abusive or profane language or obscene gestures.
  • Fans may not engage in fighting, throwing objects or other behaviour deemed detrimental to the experience of other guests.
  • Fans are encouraged to report inappropriate behaviour to Canada Life Centre staff including to your ramp attendant, security, or to Guest Services personnel. Fans may also contact security directly by calling or texting 204-590-7622. Please provide your seat location along with the nature of the issue. Canada Life Centre security and event staff will attend to the issue promptly and discreetly.
  • Fans who choose to consume alcohol must do so in a legal and responsible manner. Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited in Canada Life Centre.
  • Intervention with an intoxicated or impaired fans will be handled in a prompt and safe manner.
  • Fans shall comply with requests from Canada Life Centre staff regarding building policies and operational and emergency procedures.
  • Fans may not engage in unauthorized commercial activity while on Canada Life Centre property.
  • Violation of the Fan Code of Conduct may result in eviction from the Canada Life Centre without a seat refund. Serious or repeated violations may also result in supplementary action, including revocation of Canada Life Centre privileges, cancellation of Winnipeg Jets season seat accounts and all legal remedies.

Hockey Etiquette

We encourage all fans to respect other guests at Winnipeg Jets Hockey games. We suggest that you follow the guidelines put forth, which are considered to be proper hockey etiquette and put in place to enhance your game experience.

  • Refrain from leaning forward in your seats as to obstruct other patrons.
  • Limit standing during play.
  • Be mindful of paraphernalia that is obstructive to those around you (large hats, helmets, signs, flags, etc.)
  • Please wait until a stoppage in play to leave your seats to enter the concourse, or to return to your seats afterwards.

First aid is located on the Main Concourse across from Sections 109/209 (Gate 2). EMS attendants are on hand during all events at Canada Life Centre. Please inform a Canada Life Centre employee if first aid assistance is needed.

Food & Beverage

It is Canada Life Centre policy not to allow outside food and beverage into the facility. Exceptions to this policy are provided for foods required to accommodate specific dietary requirements (including infant food or formula) not available at Canada Life Centre, allergies or medical conditions. If you are planning to attend an event and bring food for the above reason, please advise a Canada Life Centre event staff person of this requirement upon entering the facility.

Jets Gear / Merchandise / Souvenirs

For fans who want to take the experience home, event merchandise can be purchased at various merchandise stands located throughout Canada Life Centre. Winnipeg Jets merchandise is also available at Jets Gear, the official Winnipeg Jets retail store located across from Sections 122/222 in the Main Concourse at Gate 4.  Jets Gear at the corner of Portage and Hargrave is open  Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m, and CLOSED on Saturday and Sunday, but is open during the daytime on weekends for Jets home games only.

Lost & Found

If you have lost an item please visit Guest Services located on the Main Concourse across from Sections 103/203, or on the Upper Concourse across from Section 325. Lost items will be transferred to Canada Life Centre’s security office for 14 days at which time, if not claimed, will be forwarded to a charity. You may also inquire about lost items at Canada Life Centre by using our online form.

Marijuana

The Non-Smokers Health Protection and Vapour Products Act prohibits smoking and e-cigarette use in enclosed public places. Accordingly, Canada Life Centre is a smoke-free building. The definition of smoking under the Act has been amended to include smoking cannabis, and therefore, smoking, including cannabis products, and use of e-cigarettes is prohibited in all areas of the arena. In addition, smoking tobacco or cannabis within 10 meters of any external entry door at Canada Life Centre is also prohibited under legislation.

Mobile Ticketing

Ticketing for events at Canada Life Centre is provided through mobile delivery or Will Call pickup only*. Print-at-home tickets are no longer accepted for any concerts or events, including for Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose hockey games. Mobile Ticketing provides a safe and convenient way to access Canada Life Centre events as well as to distribute your seats to friends and family.

Parking

There are over 13,000 parking spaces in surface lots and parking structures within a 10-minute walk of Canada Life Centre.

True North Square, Portage Place, City Place Lot 1, Millennium Library and Winnipeg Square lots are all connected to the downtown walkway system and are covered and/or heated.

ProWire Real-Time Audio Channels

The Winnipeg Jets have teamed up with ProWire – an in-venue broadcast service that streams real-time audio channels to fans’ phones – to deliver a new, enhanced in-arena experience. Jets fans are able to access in-game commentary and specialty Jets’ original broadcasts, including TSN and CJOB, in real-time through their mobile device. Fans can access the real-time channels by downloading the NHL app and listening through their home team club page while they are at the game.

Re-Entry

Guests attending any event at Canada Life Centre will not be allowed to re-enter the arena after exiting. Re-entry exceptions, such as emergencies, childcare or medical reasons, will be determined on a case-by-case basis by event staff and security.

The venue reserves the right to conduct a search of all guests before permitting entry to Canada Life Centre. The following items are NOT permitted into the venue:

Sensory Kits

Canada Life Centre guests who are sensitive to noise and lights can now enjoy hockey games and concert events more comfortably with complimentary sensory kits available through Guest Services. Kits include a pair of noise reducing earmuffs and ear plugs, a small variety of sensory “fidget” toys, a communication card, sanitizing wipes and tissues, along with a venue map describing the locations of family restrooms, elevators, and emergency exit all held in a small drawstring bag.

Please visit Guest Services located across from Sections 103/104 or outside Section 325 to check out a sensory kit for use during any Canada Life Centre event. Guests will be required to leave valid identification such as a driver’s license to loan the kit for the duration of the event.

Smoking

Canada Life Centre is a smoke-free building (this includes cannabis products, electronic cigarettes, and chewing tobacco).

Effective September 1, 2017, in alignment with the Canada Life Centre no re-entry policy, the facility will be smoke-free within and around all areas of the building. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas, including suites and restaurants within the facility, as well as within 10 metres of any external entry door. Sodexo Live! is the supplier of food and beverage services to Canada Life Centre, operates all of the concessions and food kiosks in the facility, and supplies the club in seat and Scotiabank Premium Suite concourse with food and catering services. Sodexo Live! is a leading provider of catering, concessions, management and merchandise services for many of North America’s best-known sports, convention, entertainment and recreation venues.

Standing (Concerts)

For all Canada Life Centre concerts, unless otherwise instructed, guests have the option to sit in their assigned seating area or to stand immediately in front of their seat. For safety, guests must keep aisle ways clear.

For the convenience of our Premium Suite Holders, a concierge desk is located at the south entrance to the Scotiabank Premium Suite Level Concourse (near the entrance bridge to Cityplace Shopping Centre). Open on event days at the same time as doors, the concierge desk provides a variety of services to our Suite Holders.

Canada Life Centre is located at the doorstep of the Graham Avenue Transit Corridor. More than 40 transit routes converge from all parts of Winnipeg providing 90 percent of Winnipeggers with one-bus access to the building. Venue Bag Policy


For your safety and expedited entry into Canada Life Centre, bag sizes are restricted to 12”x 9”x 5” or smaller which will undergo contactless security screening.

Exceptions will be made for guests with medical and childcare/diaper bags and for media. Please enter Canada Life Centre at Gate 1 (Portage and Donald), Gate 3 (Graham and Hargrave), or Gate 6 Cityplace Skywalk for mandatory X-ray screening.• On-site bag check is not available.

While this is the policy of True North Sports + Entertainment and its venues, individual tours and events may have more restrictive policies that True North will be required to enforce for certain Canada Life Centre shows and events. Video

Canada Life Centre is equipped with a full spectrum of state-of-the-art electronic displays comparable to any venue in North America. Included is a custom-built centre-hung scoreboard featuring four large video screens, a “power ring” which measures 920 feet in circumference and a large outdoor video display screen located at the corner of Portage Avenue and Hargrave Street.

Water Bottles & Water Fountains

For your convenience, empty soft-sided water bottles are permitted inside Canada Life Centre.  All other water bottles are not permitted.  Water fountains are located on all concourse levels to fill water bottles throughout Canada Life Centre.
